Indian team in winning form as they recently won series against Australia and Sri Lanka, a confident Indian team will look to continue their rich vein of form when they take on Bangladesh in their opening encounter of the Women’s World Twenty20 in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
India are tipped to reach at least the last four at the World T20, following their recent run of form, which included a historic 2-1 win over world champions Australia in January and a 3-0 clean sweep against Sri Lanka in February.
India, in the past, had reached the semi-finals on two occasions but the last two editions haven’t been great for the hosts as they failed to go beyond the group stages. Skipper Mithali Raj will look to bank on seven players who had featured in the last edition in 2014, especially Jhulan Goswami and Harmanpreet Kaur, who have played in all four previous World T20s.
India vs Bangladesh Women Match Prediction
India women will win the toss and choose to ball first and win the match. However, it would not be easy for the visitors as the likes of Jhulan, Anuja and Ekta will be keen to test their fragile batting lineup.
The Bangladesh team, on the other hand, has had a mixed time in cricket in the last few months. The key player for the team in the T20I format is Rumana Ahmed. Rumana, coming out to bat at No. 5, scores important runs while is very much successful with the ball in hand. She has the ability to take on responsibility while the top-order batsmen collapse and can take the team to victory while provided with a good partner at the other end. Bangladesh is still fighting with the form of their batsmen as the top-order have consistently failed to perform. Fargana Hoque in the middle-order is also another batsman who has countered that in the past few matches to put up a competitive score.
The Bangladesh Women’s team is based upon their bowling attack. Apart from Rumana, Jahanara Alam and Salma Khatun can affect the opponents’ batting with their spells. While India will look to get the weak Bangladesh top-order, Bangladesh will have to find a way to prevent India’sheavy batting line up from scoring.
