T20 cricket teams of Zimbabwe and Hong Kong will face each other in the first Group B fixture of the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup qualifier at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Tuesday, 8 March. The qualifiers will decide who will progress to the group stages of the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup. Eight teams, who are separated into two groups, Group A and Group B, will fight for the final two slots. Zimbabwe, who have seen a massive dip in their cricket over the last decade, are now in the qualifiers, where they have to prove their worth in order to progress to the main stage of the T20 World Cup. Hong Kong have improved over the years, especially under the guidance of Australian coach Charlie Burke. They will be looking to leave a mark on the tournament and a victory over the African nation on Tuesday will see them have a good start to the qualifiers.
Hong Kong vs Zimbabwe Match Prediction
Hong Kong will win the toss choose to bat first but Zimbabwe will win the match. The other Test nation part of the qualifiers, Zimbabwe, are in the easier of the two groups; but their World T20 form doesn’t instil much hope. Since beating Australia in their first WT20 match back in the 2007 edition, they haven’t beaten any Test team in the event. Hong Kong, like Oman, will create a splash if they manage to create an upset. But they would like to remind the world of their win over Bangladesh during the qualifying stage in 2014, though they didn’t progress to the main draw. Their recent form doesn’t auger well as they lost all three matches in the Asia Cup qualifiers to bow out.
