South Africa will play once again with Australia in the third and final T20 match of their ongoing series. The series is currently level at 1-1. The hosts had got off to a winning start to the series with a three wicket win at Durban. However, the visitors managed to square the series with a superb effort on Sunday.
The hosts put up 204/7 batting first in the first 20 overs of play with Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis batting well at the top of the order. AB de Villiers missed out yet again but de Kock and du Plessis put South Africa in cruise control.
While du Plessis hit 79 runs in 41 deliveries, de Kock scored 44 runs off 28 deliveries. David Miller played a super innings lower down the order with 33 runs in 18 deliveries. David Wiese finished things off in the last over, dragging South Africa to over 200 runs.
South Africa vs Australia Match Prediction
Australia will win the toss and will choose to field first but South Africa will win the match. South Africa made a good start to the second period of play with Kagiso Rabada and Dale Steyn getting rid of Aaron Finch, Shane Watson, and Steven Smith within the sixth over. However, just when it looked like the South Africans were going to coast to a victory, David Warner and Glenn Maxwell produced a superb fourth wicket partnership to guide Australia to a win.
While Warner hit 77 runs off just 40 deliveries, Maxwell scored 75 runs off 40 balls as well. However, the duo were dismissed within three deliveries of each other with very little in the game. Mitchell Marsh and James Faulkner kept their cool to take Australia home in a thrilling finish.
Warner will be a key man for the visitors. The Australian vice-captain has a great reputation as a big hitter and is one of the best in the business. De Kock will be South Africa’s key man heading into this decider. The opener has been in good form but there is reason to believe that there is more in the locker.
