KXIP will once again be facing a do-or-die condition during their round clash against the table-toppers Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2017. For MI, who already qualified with 18 points from 12 games for the playoffs but their primary aim is to keep their position strong into the playoffs. For KXIP who have 12 points by playing 12 games, a slide against MI will mean that Rising Pune Supergiant (16 from 12 games), KKR (16 points from 13 games) and the defending champions SRH (15 points from 13 games) will qualify for the playoffs even before playing their remaining matches.
A loss tomorrow will mean that Kings XI Punjab at best can go up to 14 points which will be a problem for them. For the MI, it will be a match to regain the momentum after losing to SRH in their previous game. The Wankhede stadium, Mumbai is like a fortress for the Mumbai Indians where they have lost 1 match this season which was against RPS. MI batting has inspired throughout this IPL season & when MI’s skipper Rohit Sharma, Parthiv Patel, Nitish Rana, the big man Kieron Pollard & another West Indian Simmons fire in that innings. RohitSharma who has been included in the Indian team for thevChampions Trophy 2017 had stuck nice innings of 67 run off just 45 balls in their last match & he would like to maintain his form on a batting friendly pitch of Wankhede. Moreover, Parthiv Patel and Lendl Simmons will be excited to give the team a firm start, be it while chasing or batting first both form. Throughout this IPL 10 season, the Pandya brothers have contributed with both the bat and ball when their team needed their performance. This both will play a vital role even when the side takes on KXIP. For Mumbai Indians, their greatest strength has been the bowling section by seasoned off Harbhajan Singh, who has been economical this year so far. With bowlers like NZ pacer McClenghan, who has taken 17 wickets so far this season and Sri Lankan seamer, Lasith Malinga who also called the death specialist as like Jasprit Bumrah, Harbhajan Singh and the Pandya brothers, overall the side has great potential to restrict any impressive batting line up.
Lasith Malinga is not going much good as much the MI skipper expects from him But Sharma will surely play him in their last home game at Wankhede. While, Punjab who outplayed KKR last night, will look to snatch the hosts win to stay in the fight for playoffs & would be hoping that SRH loses their final game which will against the Gujarat Lions. KXIP will be without their classic opener in Hashim Amla who is the only man to score 2 hundreds this 2017 IPL. Hashim Amla has returned home due to the national team duties. KXIP skipper Glenn Maxwell, Nee Zealander Martin Guptill & the great Shaun Marsh will have to score good runs & help the team to post a huge total if they elect to bat 1st. Their bastmen will be looking with the good starts & lay a base for a great total if batting 1st. The foreign players will also have to get their combinations right in terms of both bowling & batting sections. So this game will be gonna the real cracker of this IPL.
